day-45

Ugh, finally, I've become a voter. It took until H-5 to sort out the moving process before I could vote near my place. I distinctly remember how, at the beginning of the year, I was so fed up that I almost decided to golput (abstain), but eventually, I use my right to vote. Five years ago, I also cast my vote in this city, but only for the president. And this time around, it was the same; I voted solely for the president. ✋

I arrived at the TPS around 11:30, well past the scheduled time for moving voters, so naturally, I thought it wouldn't be crowded. But to my surprise, it was quite the opposite. I only managed to cast my vote at 13:00 and had to wait for about an hour and a half, witnessing the foolishness of the people around me.

I remember when my senior joked, "Apa kamu nyari jodoh di sini, Sal?". FUCK NO. By the heavens and earth, NO!

Why? Because this is what would happen. I'm not particularly fancy the locals here. The people with their Malay language and amusing accents. I've been living in this city for about six years now, and I have absolutely no interest in finding a partner here, especially if they're from here. I'm not racist; I respect other people's cultures. But I'm irritated by their personalities.

I know some people from my Zumba class, at work, and during activities here, and I can confidently conclude all my assumptions about them. I don't come to these conclusions without any basis or reason. And I'm pretty sure that their traits cannot be erased; they're deeply ingrained.

Once, when Facu and I were shopping, we were looking for a container for her, and there was only one army-colored container left. Since it was placed high up, I asked the guard to help us to get it. But when we returned, there was a ibu-ibu eyeing the container too. We had a bit of a debate, but what really pissed me off was when one of the husbands suddenly said, "Jangan bohong, ini bulan puasa,”.

FAFA AND I WERE THE ONES WHO TALKED TO THE GUARD FIRST, DUMBASS!

Enough, I don't want to dwell on the whole story because it'll just make me angry and regret, regret for not beating that person.

Even my landlord is like that. If he wasn't the one renting out his house here, I might have considered him just like everyone else. Fortunately, he still has a good side.

Again, I'm not racist or overly proud of my race and ethnicity, but that's just the way it is. If you ask which race is the strongest on earth, of course, it's the Javanese. They can survive anywhere, do any kind of work, and endure hardship. They can live modestly as long as they have food and live happily.

Anyway, let's disregard the racial part. I just consider it as hot takes and won't express these thoughts openly. I love peace and greatly respect differences. Love you Indonesia.

Whoever gets elected as president, I hope they can lead this country towards a better direction, provide better ideas and concepts, love nature and the environment, and care for the common people.

I once wondered, why would anyone want to be president? Look at their workload, it's incredibly heavy. If anything goes wrong in this country, they'll be the first one blamed. And being a president is undoubtedly exhausting and drains a lot of energy. Although the salary, services, and facilities they receive are extraordinary, the responsibilities they carry are also numerous. If you want to be president, you must be mentally and physically prepared because you'll receive curses from the entire country. You also need frequent treatments to avoid eye bags.

That's all, and thank you.

I'll continue later! BYE!
